- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All of my thoughts, they're loud in my ear. I think it's because of the silence now here. I turn my attention to focus at hand What's to be witnessed in this great land. As the sound of the drums start beating again, I notice my rider had written with pen. But, still my brain hasn't processed it all, For there's just so much that one can recall. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The crowd stood solemn, quiet and still. My rider sighed as he lay down his quill. His story was finished. That I could tell. With a confident air, somewhat tired as well, He signaled a fairy as she riled a breeze. Then at that moment I just had to sneeze. As all of his words were whisked away, It was at this moment I can honestly say. When I added the sights I had witnessed here. It was then in my head, a sum so clear! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As the drums draw closer, it's now I can see. A parade so grand, but how can it be? As the elves keep marching and playing their tune, The fairies make welcome the man in the moon. Here come the unicorns, dancing with glee. Some drawing a carriage. For whom shall it be? There's children aboard waving a hand. Keeping in time with the beat of the band. Everyone's dressed in bright colors and bows. Even the unicorns have bells on their toes! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ah! There's the trumpet as it sounds again. I'm looking to see what's about to descend. The rider he laughs, 'cause I'm looking so leary, But this night's been so mystic and eery. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All of a sudden, the crowd screams out a cheer. At last the moment we've waited for, here. A beast-like creature with power and might Steps forward and up and in to the light! All the calm I had started to feel Was instantly gone and now on appeal. The crowd became so ghostly hushed The hope I had felt was instantly crushed. When he finally spoke, he let out a roar. I trembled with fear like never before. The leaves on the trees were quivering, too. With no where to go, oh, what can I do? As if this didn't cause fear enough, Out stepped another, but wasn't as gruff. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - So, there I stood, this white unicorn Without any wits to straighten my horn. Here on my head was a big, lump of sort That tickled my nose, 'til I needed to snort. A very strange thing had happened to me. My horn had wilted, so tragic to see. With head bowed down, I was trying to hide, For the writer I'd be a shame to ride. My rider was kind as he tried to console, But I was a gasp beyond my control. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - With my head bowed down, I stared at my feet. I didn't even care if my heart didn't beat. One of the items I'd treasured the most, Was my beautiful horn of which I did boast. As I stood so humbly and so full of shame, I didn't know who or what was to blame. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
