- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I look through my eye and what do I see? A quaint, little town here before me. As I take in this intriguing place, Wisps of hair, they tickle my face. As I toss my head to shake 'em away, I could have sworn I heard someone say, "Come girl, come step inside". There he stood with the gate open wide. "Welcome! Welcome, to our little town. Are you new here? Can I show you aroun'?" "Oh," I thought."Tomor But I didn't want to refuse or really contest. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Little did I know as I gently bowed down, Who I was about to take through the town. Although it was dark, it was a moonlit night. Much could be seen without the daylight. He guided me down street after street. He didn't seem aware, I was still on my feet. Some houses were brightly all lit, While others just showed barely a bit. As I trod along, his intention was clear. He was in no hurry and harbored no fear. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Then we came to a corner of three. Here's where I stood under a tree. A wise ol' owl was way up high. Hollerin' and hootin', I didn't know why. Just then, a sound caught my ear. Sudden it was, and up I did rear. The passenger aboard he stuck like glue Then simply asked, "What frightened you?" Well, I didn't know what had made me jump, But then there he stood an elf so plump. The clothes he wore were crumpled, yet clean But, alas, his charm could readily be seen. His hat just seemed to sit on his head He must have just risen straight from his bed. He wasn't too tall as most elves aren't. His presence, though small, really did warrant A measure of magic, an aura so wise, What he said next really opened my eyes. "You have come to a town of magic and dreams. Where the thoughts of folks, or so it seems, Once expressed with brush or with pen Come to life again and again." As the elf proceeded in his factual mode, My curiosity swelled, but could only implode. "As you entered this quaint little town, What did you see scattered aroun'?" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
