*Through My Eyes*
I did a good job of guiding our steps,
a job no other could ever do,
and it wasn't my fault, really, when he stumbled.
Somewhere along our path,
perhaps where the heights were making him dizzy with joy,
He simply lost his balance and fell.
By the grace of God, he fell not to either side, nor to the rear,
but fell instead forward, along the path we'd tread.
His plunge forward was unguided, and his steps were steps I never intended.
He fell in love with me.

From strangers, to friends, to close friends, to best friends.
And beyond.
I've never been sorry for any step we've taken together,
no, not even for the fall He took alone.
But He wasn't alone,
as He fell,
I fell as well.
Unknowing.
Unaware,
that when I fell,
he fell for the same reason as mine.
Love.
