a contest perhaps
maybe a game

but a game of what
seeing who can have cooler shoes than you
to see who can really survive
or to see who can be normal

but what is normal
is anyone normal
does the word even have a definition

maybe normal isn't a real word
maybe it's just a label
like prep
jock
scene
emo

maybe we all need to stop worrying about what other people think and just live our lives the way we want

stop thinking of who you're disappointing and just think of how much people will adore you for being you

maybe that's what life is, seeing who likes you for you
