Love Me
See me standing before you.
Trying to say all that’s been left unsaid, but failing miserably.
Looking at you, my lips can’t seem to form the words I hear in my head, feel in my heart.
Seeing you, I forget everything.
There is nothing, only you.
I remember the first time we met.
You looked like an angel to me, all things beautiful combined in one lovely creature.
My legs gave way when I walked up to you,
and when I looked you in the eye, I couldn’t even remember my own name.
You’d turned me into a mumbling fool.
I’ve tried getting over you, but that proved to be impossible.
Even after so many months, to me you’re still as beautiful as the first time I saw you.
If I had a penny for every time I think of you, I could probably retire by now.
You don’t think much of me, I know.
I can’t blame you, really.
Behaving like a jibbering idiot doesn’t do much for a girls’ image.
But when I’m alone, I speak all that’s left unspoken.
When I close my eyes, I can stroke your hair, touch your cheek.
In my dreams, I can hold you in my arms just to watch you sleep.
My dreams... my dreams end when I awake.
When you’re sad, I’ll give you the moon and stars, just to see you smile.
When you can’t sleep, I’ll give you my dreams to help you through the night.
When it’s too dark to see, I’ll give you the light in my eyes.
I’ll give you all that I have, all that I am.
I won’t ask for much in return.
Just... love me
