I had the early shift at work so I was running to the bus stop but it was hard when waering combat boots and a mini skirt. I just managed to get on the bus and I got a seat in middle of the bus. I knew I was getting strange looks off everyone on the bus because I was dressed as a goth. I was wearing a grey t-shirt with bats on the front, black and white tights, black mini skirt with skulls on the back pockets. I had my dark brown hair in low pig tails, with blue and red hair extensions and some silk ribbon held my hair in place. I had the normal gothic make-up on, white powered face with lots of black eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and of course black lipstick. The goth look really didn't suit me but I work at a gothic coffee shop in Galashiels and plus I need the money badly and if that meant dressing up as a goth then so be it. Finding a job in the Scottish Borders was very, very hard to do but keeping one was a changalles. I looked out the window of the bus and saw that it was still snowing. I was glad my black hoodie with a skull on the back to keep me kinda warm.
Granny was giving me the cold shoudler today at breakfast, she didn't talk to me nor look at me but she did make me breakfast. Banana pancakes with chopped up fruit and of course a huge cup of coffee. Grandad noticed the tencshion in the room but like all smart males he said nothing about it and just asked what everyone had planned for the day. Granny was going to go shopping with her friend Dot and Annie while I was going to work then go to Hawick for a awesome party at Gemma's place. I told grandad and granny that I would be crashing at on Gemma's sofa for the night, so I wouldn't be going home tonight. Which I was glad about because I really didn't want to see granny until we both have cooled off. I hated fighting with granny because we have never really fought before...well okay maybe over what I wear but thats all.
I sighed as I listened to paramore on my ipod, I opened up my bat shaped hand bag and pulled out my book, Kiss of death by Rachel Cane. I read my book until I got to Galashiels bus station, I put my book back in my bag then I pulled on my hoodie and got off the bus.
By the time I got to Tombstone coffee shop I was like a gothsicle, I was shivering, my nose was running and I knew my nose must had been red. I waved at Devan and Shane as I walked to the staff room. I put my bag and hoodie in my small grey locker then I pulled on my black apon with skulls on it. I made sure I had everything I needed; pen, cell phone, gum, lighter, black lipstick and a mirror where all in the pocket of my apon. I walked out the staff room after putting on more black lipstick and checking my make-up. I walked behind the counter and smiled at Shane.
"Hey Shane." I said as I watched Shane make a coffee. Shane was tall, skinny, pale, has long dyed black hair with blue highlights. He was wearing black ripped jeans, black HIM t-shirt with chain belts around his hips. He picked up a white cloth and wiped the coutner and I noticed that he had painted his nails black.
Shane looked at me and smiled."Hey Rose. You know for a gal that isn't a goth, I do have to say you look great as one." He hugged me gently like I was a like gothic dolly that could break easily.
I hugged him back and rolled my eyes at him."Yeah I'm more of a jeans and hoodie kinda gal." I smiled and picked up my pad and walked around the counter and walked over to a table of four goths.
I smiled at them."Hi welcome to Tombstone. I'm Rose and I'll be your waitress. So what can I get you all to drink and eat?" I asked in my most nicest voice. After writing down what each of the goths wanted I went to get them there order.
I looked around at the sea of black clothing and pale skin. I wondered why people would dress like this. What was the attcshion to black anyways? Did you have to dress goth if you wanted to be accepted by them? I wasn't sure but if I walked into this place in my pink hoodie and jean tucked into my UGG boots I think I would be kicked out. When I first worked here I was so scared because all the goths looked so scarey but slowly as I got to know them I wasn't scared anymore. I even made friends with some of the goths like my work mates Shane, Devan, Kelly, Emily and Raven. Or couple of goths that come into the store, I've gotten friendly with them. I feel kind of accpected here but I'm still temped to come in with my normal clothes on, just to see what happens. I walked to the table of four goths and give them there coffees, muffins and cake. I walked back over to the counter when I saw Cole in line waiting for a take-way coffee.
What was Cole doing in a gothic coffee shop? And what is he wearing? I noticed that he was wearing leather trousers, white t-shirt that said 'Redeemer' in black writing and of course he had his black leather jacket over his arm and he had his motorbike helmet under the same arm. Okay so he's a biker in a gothic coffee shop, no need to freak out. But I could hardly breath and my hands shook lightly as cleaned the counter then I sorted the sugar packets. I heard Cole's voice then I heard Deven's.
"Cole what are you doing here of all places?" he asked cheerfuly.
"Just here on buisness, Devan." he said softly but I could still hear it over the noice of the goths chatting away.
"Busisness, huh? Well you have to try honey and chocolate latte. It's new and was made up by Rosie." I could he was smiling while saying that. I so wanted to hurt him for bring me into this. I didn't want Cole to see me as a gothic waitress but as a normal girl. I sighed and checked my make-up with my pocket mirror.
"Rosie?" Cole asked Devan. I was now in sight of the biker and my boss. I waved at them with a small smile while I preyed to god not to let Cole reconize me. But sadly I wasn't that lucky.
"Rose Walker?" he asked as his blue and gold eyes looked into my freakish eyes. I felt like I was melting right there in the dark gothic coffee shop. My heart beat a little faster and I could feel my cheeks getting warm.
"Ummm...yeah it's me but don't say anything cause I'm hidding from the law." I joked as I rolled my eyes."So you want a honey and chocolate latte, huh?" I asked.
Cole looked me up and down like I was some gothic poster girl then he finally nodded."I'd love one of your lattes." he said softly and he smiled a little.
I smiled at him."Okay, coming right up."I said in my cheerful little gothic voice.
Cole Bennett watched little Rose Walker go and make a honey and chocolate latte for him as he leaned on the counter of the coffee bar. He only came in to talk to Devan but he couldn't pass up the chance to see little Rose dress up as a goth for the day. Well it must be every weekend she dresses goth. The look suited her in some way, it reminded him of Rose's mother, Violet Walker Moonstone. Yes little Rose dose indeed look so much like her mother but not in hair color nor hight.
Rose looked like a little pixe with her long chocolate brown hair, cream colored skin, cute button nose and her small but yet pouty lips. Rose only looked about 5 foot 4, very small for a human. She must get her hight off her grandmother, Marigold Walker. But if there is one thing little Rose Walker got genticly off her mother was her eyes. Her beautiful eyes that change color from green to blue then to gold then to grey then back to blue.
But thats a Walker thing, well it's the only thing that has been pasted down to only females in that family. And it was another to all the females in the Walker family, well the ones that where born into the family, where all named after flowers and they keep ther last names too. Well Violet broke that rule about keeping her last name, if I remember Violet took her husband's last name when they married, some what 20 years ago.
Cole looked around the dark gothic coffee shop and felt some what mocked by the dark colors, dark music as well as all the people dressed in gothic gear all wanting to embase the darkness in there hearts.
Shame that most humans don't have much darkness, I thought. I could feel Devan's cold pale blue and grey eyes on me, burning holes in the side of my head. I just didn't pay him any notices because I would get around to Devan later but for now I was having fun watching and hearing little Rose Walker make me a honey and chocolate latte.
