When an upstart Genin questioned the proctors' ability to catch the Genin cheating, Tonbo answered him quite ably: without warning, he sent a flying knee into the Genin's stomach, offering his strength as proof.

Trivia

"Tobitake" is formed with the characters 飛 ("fly") and 竹 ("bamboo"). "Tonbo" translates as "dragonfly". Thus, his name roughly means "dragonfly flying in the bamboo" - an appropriate name, given his demonstrated ability.
