Raiga is a character from a sidestory of the Anime and as such is not considered canon by some fans. He claims to be a member of the Kiri no Shinobigatana Nananin Shū (霧の忍刀七人衆, "Seven Swordsmen of the Mist") like Momochi Zabuza or Hoshigaki Kisame. But unlike the other members of the Kiri no Shinobigatana Nananin Shū, he wields two pike-like swords which he uses in a manner similar to lightning rods to attract and channel lightning. Since wielding a large sword is one of the reasons the Seven Swordsmen are called the Seven Swordsmen, Raiga's lack of one seems to be a mistake of the Anime crew.

Raiga was a former member of the ANBU of the Kirigakure. On a mission he met the disabled Ranmaru. Raiga and Ranmaru promised each other to be "two in one" under Raiga's name. Ranmaru became Raiga's eyes and ears and Raiga became Ranmaru's arms and legs. He used Ranmaru's kekkei genkai much the same way like Momochi Zabuza used Haku's. Later he took over a village and let the inhabitants work for him. If they didn't listen, they would be punished by being buried alive. Team Gai and Uzumaki Naruto stopped Raiga and nearly killed him, but Ranmaru used his chakra to revive him. Later he was defeated and gave himself a funeral by killing himself with his own lightning.
