If there is one thing that Nintendo 64 is known for, it's undoubtedly 3D platformers. From Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie to Chameleon Twist and Bomberman 64, Nintendo's 64-bit console definitely has its share of 3D jump-and-explo
re titles. In fact, some would say that between Nintendo and Rare, the system has perfected the genre. Why then would Interactive Studios, a newcomer to the hardware, and Hasbro Interactive decide to throw one more into the mix? The simple answer is that their game is different from the rest of the lot, largely due to character design and translated character mechanics.
It's called Glover, and it has nothing to do with fat plumbers or backwoods bears and birds. Rather, Interactive Studios' off-the-wall title revolves around a walking, functioning glove named Glover (go figure, eh?), and his various assortment of balls. Sound a bit strange? Yeah well, it is -- but it's also quite a bit of fun.

Internet Reviews:
Glover won't blow anybody away in the graphic department. However, because of the game's intuitive gameplay mechanics and off-the-wall character design, I think platform fans will have a lot of fun with this one. Admittedly, Glover does come with a learning curve and later levels can lead to madness, but until you've rolled a ball around a level with a walking hand, well, you're just missing out on the best things in life.
Glover has the potential to fall flat on its face or be this year's sleeper hit. Give it a rent. You might just like it.

It takes a while until you get used to Glover's controls, but once you learn how to throw the balls, dribble and actually move around without losing it, the game becomes truly rewarding. Stick with the game, and you will find many excellent puzzles that use the different balls to a tee. Unfortunately, the graphics aren't quite up there with the physics engine. so gamers spoiled by Banjo and Mario might want to rent Glover before making a purchasing decision. If you're looking for a charming platformer with original gameplay, then get your hands on Glover. A good N64 entry for Hasbro and Interactive Studios.
