For as long as the sky is blue
that’s how long I’ll love you.
For all the world to see and hear
I just wish that you’ll be near.
Don’t forget all the time we’ve spent
so that I can lay content.
Forever lost and never found
I came willingly to your sound.
Your voice is comfort in a time of need
creating a love that time will feed.
Can you hear my desperate plea
that I will call until you see.
Until you see my pain inside,
a pain that I just cannot hide.
Forever I wish to see your face
so that maybe I can win this race.
A race of life that is so long
that I need you to keep me strong.


~Day to Night~ [dedicated to Shannon Osborn]

Just before dusk when day becomes night,
all of goodness is lost from sight.
Though hidden from your eyes so you cannot see,
in your minds eye it will still be.
When day becomes night and all life seems to end,
remember that dawn is coming just around the bend.
For every bad there is a good
and in every darkness light has stood.
Even at night goodness still stands,
for look to the sky and the star’s wide bands.
Nothing can make light cease to exist,
its always around, standing in our midst.
Simply reach out and grasp it
to send darkness to the pit.


~Wise Soldier~

Nowhere to go, no escape found
tired and dirty he is homebound.
With nothing but loss and despair in his wake
he looks aside for his wife's sake.
Seeing the good in a world full of bad
he no longer feels that he should be sad.
He is a soldier that knows what is right
and sees the wrong in this awful plight.


~Life~

Life is short,
time's contort.
Make something new to replace the old
but never do what can't be told.
Others believe in what they see,
but what I don't get is how they plea.
I travel here, I travel there,
in my dreams I smell the air.
I look beyond where I am blind,
I look behind to nothing kind.
There seems no end to worries and woes,
my life has always gone too slow.
I worry here I worry there,
my thoughts are racing everywhere.
I wish I knew what I deem,
I wish I saw what can't be seen.
My life has raced before my eyes,
it's time for me to say good bye.


~The Pain of the Soul~

It's always there,
till the end of time.
Whether it is or isn't fair,
it is your soul.

Silent as a mime,
it's your heart as well.
Don't waist its time,
it is your soul.

Your heart can tell,
love or hate.
It cannot sell,
it is your soul.

In the midst of fate,
it shows clear.
It hurts itself,
it pains your soul.


~The World~

Times are good and times are bad,
but sometimes you just can’t be sad.
The world is life and death in all,
but it never thinks itself too tall.
Should you believe in fate,
you may not think yourself too late.
Can you believe in time so clear,
or always take your time so dear.
The world is lonely and crowded too,
but there’s always room enough for two.


~The Key~

Sometimes love cannot proceed
when life and liberty have taken heed.
The world around you isn’t right
when the doves and mocking birds don’t take flight.
The horses run and the rabbits hop
but the lions and tigers will never stop.
Let others believe in what they see
when you alone will have the key.
