Imagine fast paced racing, graphics so sharp you almost can cut yourself, an amazing polygon game engine with no pop-up, accurate collision detection, fantastic music with memorable melodies and bass-pounding sound effects!
Imagine hours of racing fun with an addictive two player split-screen mode, realistic landscapes, awesome crashes and intelligent computer enemies. Now imagine a game that has none of the above.
Welcome to Cruis'n USA.

Let's face it, the arcade game wasn't all that hot to begin with -- but the final N64 version turned out to be even more disappointing. Ignoring the dated gameplay and less than impressive physics and handling, at least graphical problems like pop-up and low framerates should have been fixed. Unfortunately, this game is probably doomed to be the nadir of N64 racing games for many years to come. Rent it for a few hours of fun, but don't waste your money on it.

OK, so it's an arcade-racer you're interested in. You couldn't care less about real physics or licenses, you just want to go fast, jump, and crash. Well, you can certainly find all of the above in Cruis'n USA, but at a price: second-rate graphics, sound, and uninspired gameplay. If it's mediocrity you seek then look no further. If you want a real arcade-racer then please, by all means, rent San Francisco Rush.
